9/11 We Remember

September 11th, 2001 is a date we will never forget. On this day nearly 3,000 people were killed at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon. The United States of America was in utter shock and sadness.

Do you remember where you were at the very moment that this tragedy happened in 2001? Class of 2014, you were in fourth grade. Class of 2015, you were in third grade. Class of 2016, you were in second grade. And Class of 2017, you were in first grade. How crazy is that? As we reflect on this day, here are some touching words spoken by Fred Rogers better known as “Mr. Rogers” on PBS Show Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things on the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”

Let us all as a community remember those we lost and honor the heroes who defend our country #DPUremembers.
