Wondering where all the hot study spots are on DePaul’s campus? We come bearing answers from students in our office! Every student has their own studying space preference therefore we rounded up the answers we received and compiled a short and sweet list of favorite spots on campus.
John T. Richardson Library
The JTR has four floors and a newly renovated first floor that is newly furnished with comfortable couches and study tables. Floors two through four are full of single desks, cubicles, study rooms, and group study tables as well. The JTR is always really quiet for those who want to get some serious studying done! Not to mention, there are also computer labs available for students to use as well. JTR has very accommodating hours – it is open 24 hours during midterms and finals for all those night owls!
Arts and Letters Hall (Pictured Above)
Opened in Winter of 2012, Arts and Letters remains a very popular building for students to take a break and study! This building is absolutely gorgeous. Its four floors has all types of study spots for students to use. From couches by the window to high tables with lamps, to large group study desks- Arts and Letters Hall has it all! The fourth floor also has a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline! Arts and Letters still has its new building smell! On nice days, the Arts and Letters outdoor patio is full of students enjoying the sunshine studying away.
Schmitt Academic Center Pit
Informally known as the “SAC Pit,” this is a traditional study spot that students gather on all types of occasions. The SAC Pit is mostly used for group study and for a more social setting. A great thing about the SAC Pit is that there is a Bean Cafe adjacent to it where students can grab a study snack! The Bean Cafe has delicious tea, coffee, smoothies, cookies, brownies- you name it!
